We believe that young people deserve more. Not just the ones in big city centres, not just the ones at particular schools or who have well-off parents. We believe young people deserve our time as mentors and deserve our knowledge and guidance to build their own life experience. It's worth putting effort into young people.

Sea Cadets gives young people the life skills they need to become the lead

ers of their generation and the confidence to achieve great things now and in the future, or simply the opportunity to do a bit better. With a little bit of effort from a few community-minded people, we can change the lives of individuals and the ethos of a community. And it's worth it, even for just a handful of young people in a little port town.

🌟 Celebrate National Volunteer Week in New Zealand! 🌏🇳🇿

National Volunteer Week 2024 runs from June 16-22. This year’s theme is ‘Whiria te tangata – weaving the people together’. Volunteering weaves us together, strengthening the fabric of our community, and this week celebrates the collective contribution of the millions of volunteers who enrich New Zealand.

Did you know that in New Zealand, volunteers collectively dedicate over 159 million hours each year to helping our communities thrive? and over the past 12 months NZCF volunteers gave 154,404 hours which is the equivalent of more than 52.84 years service!
