We had a fun first week of our holiday programme here at Koputai Kids kicking off with a senior mystery trip of frisbee golf at Chingford Park. It was a highlight for me not only because of the weather but the children were totally engaged in the challenging activity.

Activities at Koputai included poster making, making mobile solar systems, making stars and meteors. The children have also enjoyed playing outside in the sun using the variety of playgrounds surrounding Koputai Kids as well as playing on their wheels.

For our museum trip we went to Discovery World and a movie about potential life out in the universe which tied in with our Space topic.

For our junior mystery we went to Inflatable World perfect for the cooler day.

On Friday we had a harbour tour on Sooty Chaser around the Port Chalmers Container wharf and Carey’s Bay checking out the wildlife and local scenery from great vantage points. The children then climbed up to the flagstaff lookout having a picnic and then played on the clay bank and swing.

All in all an action packed week. Make sure you check out this weeks fun activities.

Wow! What a quick term we are having. The weather has been amazing which has been great for us all getting outside to play. Our favourite game at the moment is soccer followed closely by tag or hide in seek which as you can imagine is fun at the Port Chalmers School playground as there are so many places to hide. We have also been creating models of boats and more recently space pictures for our up and coming holiday programme. Enjoy the photos.
