WHY NOT JOIN US MON 9 OCT FOR TOASTMASTERS -- HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME ...
It was a chilly, windy and wet Wellington evening, but the Club Members are not to be deterred! To top it off, there was Mak - a Guest for the evening! Mak has only recently moved from Auckland and was looking for some "me-time" away from the family and to gain some new friends and hone her speaking skills too along the way! What better than joining Toastmasters - Porirua Central?
The evening was a great success. The theme of the meeting was 'kindness' and all members had very insightful take on their Table Topics speeches (impromptu speeches). Irene ran the Table Topics with aplomb. Next came the prepared speeches - Fenli, ever enthusiastic, used her prepared speech to work on her speech for the upcoming Toastmasters International Speech Contest. Sam, the chair for the evening presented an insightful video on how to select topics for speeches. Turns out, speech topics are all around us and we only have to look!
As usual the club caught up with each other over coffee and snacks before moving into the second half of the meeting which was all around evaluation and feedback. Juan did a herculean job of juggling multiple roles including the timekeeper - which is always challenging. Jocelyn as usual added great value through her insightful feedback for all which we shall take up for improvement.
Another enjoyable evening. Another successful meeting. All at Porirua Central Toastmasters!
