Just received this from one of our members.

When a trip goes to plan.
Just wanted to show you that the fishing section talks do help.
The Sunday after Chris gave us the Blue Tackle talk on Puka fishing, we headed out to look for out first Puka. Chris had given us some spots but due to the weather we played it safe and fished closer inshore.
Using one of the rigs we bought on the night we managed a 6 kg 75.8cm and 12 Kg 90cm Puka.
Just wanted to say thanks for arranging these talks.

Our usual meeting agenda followed by a presentation from Coastguard.
Coastguard have a base on our yard and a vessel on our breastwork, and provide a valuable service to boaties around New Zealand. Come on down to the club and get some insights on marine safety and rescue operations and learn about their critical work on the water.

Due to the advice on the Wellington Region Civil Defence Emergency Management Group page that people should “Stay inside if your house is safe and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.” we have cancelled tonight’s meeting.
Tim still wants to gather our views on the Fisheries Amendment Bill so we are looking to reschedule the meeting. We will advise once organized.
