🎀 OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🎀

💗 Early detection can save lives.

Did you know that around 92% of breast cancers are survivable when detected early? (Source: Breast Cancer Foundation NZ)

Knowing your body, recognising changes, and attending regular breast screening can make a life-changing difference.

This October, we encourage all our wāhine to prioritise their breast health and remind the women in your life to do the same.

Early detection is key to successful treatment.

Let's continue looking after our wāhine, our whānau, and our community. 💗

This is a free 6-week programme providing a safe and supportive space for dads/pāpā to have real conversations about fatherhood, relationships, communication, discipline, confidence and their role within their whānau.

This week brought the opening of Manawanui Resource Centre, Waitangirua from Maraeroa Marae Health Clinic. A resource for tangata and whānau within our community to utilise. From a view that whānau is the prime support system, the whānau connections span across generations linking to knowledge of heritage so creating strong family ties.

These connections build on knowledge of tīpuna, linking the individual to future connections and knowledge of heritage creating strong family ties. The connection between the individual, the whānau and personal history is a multi-layered connection. Understanding the role of whānau in healing is fundamental to recovery and their wellness.

Manawanui Resource Centre kaimahi will support whānau and community to design their own resolutions. As a community the whānau know what is best for their own wellbeing and hauora.
