The Israeli government has openly accelerated settlement expansion and annexation of Area C of the West Bank, under Israeli law.

Many Palestinian communities remain at critical risk of displacement.

Demolition of Palestinian homes goes hand in hand with creation of Israeli outposts.

Online harm is affecting more and more people across Aotearoa New Zealand.

From scams and impersonation, to online abuse and misinformation — the systems shaping our online lives are not doing enough to protect the people who use them.

That’s why businesses, broadcasters, community organisations and not-for-profits have joined together to call for stronger digital accountability and safer online systems by design.

Leaders from across Aotearoa New Zealand have come together in support of digital accountability.

Our campaign, run jointly with Tāhono Trust, has released an open letter today calling on the government to act. The letter has been signed by businesses and not-for-profits who have united behind this important message for change.

The call for digital platforms to be safer by design is becoming so loud the government cannot afford to ignore it.

The Government is once again rushing through legislation.

The latest example is the Social Security (Modernisation) Amendment Bill which allows the Ministry of Social Development to use automated decision making more broadly, which it self raises serious concerns that need to be worked through carefully.

The sheer amount of use of urgency is concerning, especially when used for significant change. Whether you support proposed changes going through urgency or not, the point is debate and scrutiny is important.

Good decision-making is about meaningful participation, scrutiny, transparency and accountability.

This is what "security" looks like in a World Cup host country.

Cruel. Inhuman. Degrading. These are the conditions people are being held in while governments prepare to welcome the world to the beautiful game.

Is it human? Is it right?

In the host countries right now, fans face immigration raids. Homeless people are being pushed out of sight. Protesters are being silenced. LGBTQI+ supporters don't know if it's safe to travel.

When did it become OK for the world's biggest celebration to be powered by fear?

In 2026, the Department of Justice announced it would restore and expand ex*****on methods for federal crimes.

This is happening in the same country hosting the World Cup this June. The same country that will welcome millions of fans and tell the world it stands for freedom.

The Legislation (Definitions of Woman and Man) Amendment Bill passed its first reading in Parliament today. We oppose this Bill.

Gender identity is deeply personal. It refers to each person's internal sense of who they are, which may or may not correspond with the s*x assigned at birth. For some people, gender sits outside the binary. For others, it is fluid, or it is something they do not experience at all.

Most people are placed into binary s*x and gender categories from birth, regardless of whether those categories reflect who they actually are.

This Bill would further entrench that binary into law, forcing people to conform to categories that do not account for the full reality of human experience. For those who do not see themselves in those categories, the emotional and psychological impact is real and significant.

We urge all political parties in Parliament to vote this Bill down at select committee. It will only deepen stigma, division, and harm.

To our , , and whānau: you are who you say you are. No piece of legislation changes that.

Pakhshan Azizi is a Kurdish aid worker. She has spent her life helping displaced families.

Iran sentenced her to death for that work.

She is one of thousands. In 2025, Iran executed more people than any country except China. Many were protesters. Many were minorities. Many were people whose only crime was asking for a better life.
