Auckland Council are running a consultation on the Piha Domain playground renewal - get in there and submit you and your kids' feedback on what you want in the upgraded playground: https://akhaveyoursay.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/piha-domain-playground-renewal

Curiously, no mention of skate/wheel play 🤨 but worth chucking in the free text fields to ensure the message is heard that we need a safe space for our tamariki to ride 🛹🛼🚲🛴

What we are proposing The playground at Piha Domain needs an upgrade. We want to: improve the range of equipment improve accessibility What we want your feedback on We want to know: how you use the current playground which activities and play equipment you would like in

Let’s bring a skate and wheel play area to Piha! 🛹🚴‍♀️

The Piha Kids Charitable Trust has been selected as one of the local causes in Z Energy’s Good in the Hood fundraiser, and we need your support.

Head to Henderson Valley Z between 26 August and 22 September 2024 and vote for the Piha Kids Charitable Trust with your token. Every vote brings us a tiny bit closer to giving our kids a safe place to skate and ride.

Big things start with small voices! Tuhipō (6) from Oratia District School recently launched a petition calling for a dedicated skate and wheel play area in Piha, and her efforts have reignited our passion at the Piha Kids Charitable Trust.

Most of the school raised their hands in support when asked if a skate park in Piha was a good idea. Esther (9) shared: "So many people are coming up to me at school and asking where they can find the petition!" Room 2 at Oratia School, if you're wondering. 😉

Their initiative, a pertinent recent reminder that we need to support the connectedness and mental health of our rangatahi, and renewed energy from the Piha R&R, has given us the boost we needed to continue the mission to create a safe and fun space for our kids to skate and ride in Piha.

Let’s keep the momentum going! Stay tuned for more updates on how you can support our Piha kids and teens.
