๐ŸŒฒโ›บ Ex Huia
Over the 13th - 14th of June, almost 40 cadets and officers completed an overnight tramp through the Orongorongo Valley. Throughout the exercise, cadets developed and practiced a range of bushcraft and field skills, including navigation, river crossing techniques, and lost-person procedures, while also demonstrating perseverance, teamwork, encouragement, and resilience.

A huge thank you to W/O Jiang and S/SGT Ferguson for organising and planning the exercise from start to finish, and to all staff who helped make the weekend a success.

Shout out to W/O Jiang and S/SGT Ferguson's pizza too ๐Ÿ•

Exercise Flying Fish 1-3 August 2025

50 cadets from Wellington units descended on Brookfield Scout Camp for a weekend full of friendly competition and adventurous activities. The purpose of the activity was to allow junior and senior NCOs to put their lead teams skills into practice. Cadets split into mixed unit teams with an NCO team leader and competed in 14 activities over the weekend including obstacle course, first aid scenario and CASEVAC, kayak racing, fire lighting, camo and concealment and communication and more.

We were also lucky to be joined by some special guests - 4 US marines from the US Embassy New Zealand who provided some top notch acting as patients in the first aid scenario. Thanks you marines!

Overall the weekend was a challenging and enjoyable activity for all of the cadets and staff who attended. Ex Flying Fish will be back bigger and better next year!
