Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre

Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre We are a friendly, well resourced centre in the heart of Patumahoe Village. We offer a range of sessions for children from birth to six years (0-6).

Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre is a place where our children are supported to become confident, competent self-directed learners through play based around their interests. Our children gain knowledge through play, participation and positive guidance. Our Children’s curiosity and creativity is nurtured through the fun range of experiences provided … no two days at Playcentre are the same. Our children develop nurturing and social skills which have lifelong benefits. Siblings attend together, allowing older children to mentor younger children and practise empathy and caring. Our parental relationships developed through Playcentre provide support from parents and help them develop new parenting and life skills. Our parents are actively involved in providing our children’s learning programmes. The high adult to child ratio allows a good balance for group and individual support during each session. There is no other organisation for early childhood education and family development quite like it in the world. Thousands of kiwi children, and their parents too, have grown up with Playcentre … book in for your three free visits today and come and join the fun.

🌼 Could next term be the start of something lovely?

A place to explore for your little one. A warm welcome for you. A morning you both look forward to. 💛

At Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre, tamariki learn through play — following their curiosity, exploring their ideas and discovering the world with you alongside them.

A little paint can become a masterpiece, the sandpit can become a construction site, and a “shall we give it a go?” can become part of your weekly routine.

We’d love to welcome new whānau next term! Bring your little ones — from babies through to school age — and join a community where we play, learn and grow together. There’s room for the quiet watchers, the busy explorers and everyone in between. 🌿

✨ Come along for three free visits.
📍 We’re right next to Patumahoe School.

The confidence of someone who has absolutely no idea what the brief was…but knows she’s nailing it. 🎨😂

May we all approach life with the confidence of a Playcentre kid with access to paint. 💜💛

🌟 We’re out exploring today! 🌟

Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre is closed today because our tamariki and whānau are swapping the Playcentre playground for a whole lot of bouncing, climbing, jumping and fun at BOUNCE! 🤸‍♀️🙌

We’ll be back at centre tomorrow, Thursday 27 August, from 9am–12pm — hopefully with everyone’s feet firmly back on the ground! 😂💜💛

See you then!

One more day to come and discover a little Playcentre magic… 🧚‍♀️✨

Today, a pair of wings, a tunnel and a friend became a whole fairy adventure — with plenty of crawling, flapping, exploring and imagination along the way. 💜

That’s the wonderful thing about child-led play. Give tamariki the time, space and freedom to follow their ideas, and you never quite know where their imagination will take them.

Tomorrow is the final day of Open Week at Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre! 💜💛

If you’ve been thinking about visiting, come along tomorrow morning. There’s no need to book — just pop in, have a play, meet some of our whānau and see what Playcentre could be for your family.

Who needs forwards when you’ve mastered reverse? 😂🚗💨

These two little drivers were busy showing off their skills today. There was just one small detail… neither has quite worked out the whole going forwards thing yet.

Reverse? Absolutely.
Forward? Apparently completely unnecessary. 😂

At Playcentre, learning happens everywhere — even behind the wheel of a Little Tikes car! Through play, tamariki experiment, problem-solve, practise new skills and work things out in their own time.

And sometimes the grown-ups just get to stand back and enjoy the entertainment. 💜💛

There’s still one more day of Open Week! 🎉
If you’ve been thinking about coming along, tomorrow is your chance. Pop in, have a play, meet some of our whānau and see what Playcentre is all about.

This is what learning can look like. 💚✨

A little sand, a splash of colour, something bubbling and oozing… and suddenly there’s a whole lot to investigate! 😍

At Patumahoe Mauku Playcentre, tamariki are encouraged to get stuck in — to touch, pour, mix, create, wonder, experiment and follow their curiosity wherever it takes them.

Come and experience it for yourself during Playcentre Open Week! 💜💛

What will they discover at Playcentre? 💜💛

Sometimes it starts with a little paint… and ends with glitter, cupcake cases, wooden sticks, painted hands and a masterpiece only they could explain. ✨🎨

At Playcentre, tamariki have the freedom to explore, experiment, get messy, follow their ideas and see where their imagination takes them.

And the best part? You get to be there for it. 💛

We're off on an adventure!

Tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd June) our whānau will be out exploring at Macpherson Quarry.

At Playcentre, learning doesn't just happen within our gates. We love exploring our community, asking questions, making discoveries, and seeing where children's curiosity takes us. Tomorrow's adventure will be full of opportunities to observe, wonder, learn, and connect with the world around us.

There will be no session at the centre tomorrow morning while we're out exploring.

We'll be back at the centre on Thursday and Friday from 9am–12pm and would love to see you then.
