Congratulations to Zonta Whangārei and Hatea Whangārei for organising a great Area Hui. Wonderful food and fellowships, thanks to the D16 Board members for making the journey north and sharing updates. We were enthralled by guest speaker Alicia Didsbury from the Ovarian Cancer Foundation NZ, a passionate researcher working tirelessly to raise awareness and support women🧡

Our Zonta year is off to a great start🧡 We welcomed new member Helen Donovan, we heard from aspiring pilots Ananya and Suao, from Ardmore Flying School and Gwen Coleman aspiring author. We were lucky that our Women is Business Award recipient Victoria Manning was able to fit in a visit while back home on a holiday from her studies at London School of Business

Tonight we marked the start of 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence at our club hui. We were privileged to have Gwen Coleman share her story. It takes great bravery and courage to share a story like Gwen’s, it was raw, confronting and beautifully delivered and she even treated us to her powerful poetry. Thank you Gwen for being the brave enough to share with our club and thank you to your mum and support crew from Diamonds in the Rough for coming along, you all made our club night really special 💞

We are delighted to announce that Gwen Coleman will be the Guest Speaker at our next club meeting. We first me Gwen through our work with Diamonds in the Rough we are honoured that she will be sharing her journey with us. She is a remarkable young women who through self-determination and finding the right people to support her, changed the direction of her life, having the courage to stand up for herself in the most challenging of circumstances.
