Volunteer Week Spotlight: Our Amazing Drivers!
This Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating a very special group of people — our incredible Kāpiti Community Foodbank drivers.

Every day, rain or shine, our drivers head out across the district to collect donations from our generous supporters. Their mahi keeps our shelves stocked and ensures we can continue supporting local whānau in need.

We want to acknowledge the wonderful businesses and groups who welcome our drivers and donate so generously:

• Pak’nSave Kāpiti
• New World Kāpiti & New World Waikanae
• Woolworths Paraparaumu
• The Warehouse Paraparaumu
• Kaibosh
• Church groups across Kāpiti who collect for us with such heart

To our drivers — thank you for your commitment, and your kindness. You are the quiet heroes behind the scenes, and we appreciate you more than words can say.

Ngā mihi nui to all our volunteers this week and every week.

Bags! Bags! Bags!
We need the!. A lot of our clients walk to collect their parcels, so we pack them into bags for easier carrying. We have lots of paper bags but they don't do well in the rain. If you have spare fabric bags, you can drop them into our collections bins at Pak n Save Kapiti, New World Kapiti and Waikanae, Woolworths Paraparaumu and The Warehouse Paraparaumu. Or you can drop them to us at 17 Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu, between 10am and 12pm, Monday to Friday (we'll take them, empty or full). Nga mihi Kapiti.

A huge thank you to the amazing students of Paraparaumu College for their incredible donation of $1,200 worth of pantry items. These items were purchased using funds raised from their recent Youniform Day, and generously shopped for at Pak’nSave Kāpiti. Your effort, teamwork, and community spirit make a real difference for local whānau. Two of the students were on hand when our team picked up the donation, Yuhei Kawashima and Kaname Kuniba, who also volunteered for a day with us.

We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful Connect Church congregation for their ongoing support. Their monthly food collection, held on the last Sunday of each month, continues to provide essential items that help keep our shelves stocked and our community cared for.

The Kāpiti Community Foodbank is incredibly grateful for these generous contributions. Together, we’re making sure support is there for those who need it most.
