Rotary is not all about doing projects but also about fellowship. Today, 21 Rotarians, Partners and friends toured One NZ Stadium from top to bottom.

When there was a large downpour of rain we were thankful for the roof. Big thanks to our Guide Geoff from Ōtautahi Venues for his informative talk.

Accessibility was at the forefront of the design.

Great facility for Christchurch and I particularly liked the room for the ball boys and girls - wasn't like that in my day! Lucky to get a pie and drink!

Afterwards many of us met for coffee at one of the nearby hospitality venues for discussions on a wide variety of topics.

🌟 Brighter Roads Ahead for Our Young Cyclists 🚲💡

It was a pleasure to welcome John Skevington to speak with members of the Rotary Club of Bishopdale Burnside recently. John shared insights from the inspiring initiative featured in AA Directions magazine, “Brighter Roads Ahead.”

The mission is simple but powerful — helping keep school children safe by providing bike lights to those who need them. 🚸✨ With more young people cycling to school, visibility on our roads is vital, especially during darker mornings and afternoons.

John’s passion for improving road safety and supporting our community’s tamariki was truly motivating. This initiative is a reminder of how small actions — like a simple bike light — can make a big difference in protecting young lives.

👏 A big thank you to John for his engaging presentation and to all involved in making our roads safer for the next generation.

Many of our members have given up their time today to be street collectors at New World Fendalton for Aviva’s annual appeal. Aviva support people to live life free from family and sexual violence and overcome their enduring harms. Many thanks to those that donated this morning and if you are stopping by this afternoon say hi to our team members.

A fantastic evening of Rotary fellowship and inspiration on Monday night!

The Rotary Clubs of Bishopdale Burnside and Rangiora came together for a joint meeting, enjoying great company and an outstanding guest speaker.

We were privileged to hear from Louisa Stewart, co-founder of Clothed in Love. Louise shared the story behind this remarkable organisation—how it began in 2020 and the meaningful difference it is making in our community. As a teacher and a mum of three, her passion and commitment to supporting families in need truly shone through.

It was also special to learn that both Louisa and co-founder Kim Steetskamp are past participants in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), highlighting the lasting impact of Rotary’s investment in future leaders.

We were especially pleased to note that Clothed in Love was one of the community groups invited to receive books at the conclusion of our recent BOOKarama. These books are now included in the clothing packs delivered to children—adding the gift of reading to an already invaluable act of care and support.

Thank you, Louisa, for an inspiring presentation and for the incredible work you and your team are doing.
