Breast cancer is on the rise whanau. It can affect men as well as women so all of us should take care. If you are entitled to a free mammogram (breast scan) then make sure you have one. Any strange lumps should be checked straight away. Early detection can make a real difference to getting treated in time.

Kia ora whanau
There are many communicable diseases around... so easy to catch and so hard to get rid of. Consider vaccination as an option but find out what that involves before you make your choice. One of the most important things that you can do for your whanau and for yourself is to build your strength and to ensure your immune system is as strong as it can be. Maori have traditional rongoa which can be used and other cultures have their own medicines which you might use to boost your immune. Much to think about whanau.

While many of our whanau have struggled to stop smoking we advocate to our rangatahi that they should never start. Va**ng might be an option for you but if you don't know what is in the stuff they put into the oils etc then maybe that's not a good option for you either.

We need to take care of ourselves especially in our homes. To make sure we have a healthy space for our whanau please take care to keep it dry and warm well ventilated and free from mould. If your windows and glass panes on your doors have condensation in the morning wipe them dry and open them to let the moisture out.
