To the Papakura community,
After living with my family in Papakura over the past four years, it is time that we moved back home to the Bay of Plenty and say goodbye to the community we have been lucky enough to immerse ourselves in.
Since I have lived in Papakura, I have had some incredibly special moments occur - I have been gifted money at the supermarket as a random act of kindness (leading to a pay-it-forward moment), I have had over $5000 worth of prizes donated by local business owners for my community events held at Massey Park Pools, and I have seen first hand the bond our community has during hard times - Something that we should all be proud of.
I started Positive Papakura through a post on Facebook that gained a lot of attention about speaking out about the good things that come from within our community, instead of highlighting the small number of negative incidents that occurred. I feel content knowing I have done my part in making the Papakura community a bit more positive, and will be sad to leave behind a community that cares for each other like our one does.
This page will be handed over to Lara Wharepapa Bridger, someone who is well-known throughout the Papakura community for her selfless efforts in making our town a better place, one that we are proud to be part of :-)
From my family to yours, thank you all for such a wonderful few years living in this community.
