It is with sadness that we share that Brian Harvey (Western Bays Sea Scouts) passed away on Monday.

For anyone who has been to an Auckland Regatta in recent decades, your boats will have been launched and retrieved by him; year after year as Brian combined his passions of playing with Land Rovers and boats. As well as many hours spent playing with Land Rovers at the Pio Pio Adventure Weekend camps and so much more. Thank you Brian for your many years of service and for the impact you made on so many lives. You will be sorely missed.

A Commemorative Service will be held on Friday, 10th October at 3.00pm

Morrisons Funeral Home, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson, Auckland

The service will be live streamed here for those who are unable to attend in person.

Tomorrow, Papakura SEA SCOUTS will be proudly representing at two ANZAC Day parades.
Our youth will be attending both the Papakura and Manurewa Dawn Services.

In Papakura, all our youth sections — from our youngest Keas to our oldest Venturers — will be participating in the Dawn Service parade.

Over in Manurewa, a dozen of our Scouts and Venturers will be taking part in the Dawn Service, and will also be serving breakfast to veterans at the Manurewa RSA afterwards.

If you spot us at either parade, come over and say hi — we’d love to see you!

Ahoy Team - End of Term Adventure at Extreme Edge!

This Friday marked the end of the term for our Papakura SEA SCOUTS, and we wrapped it up in style with an awesome night at Panmure Extreme Edge Rock Climbing!

Our scouts tackled all sorts of climbing challenges—from fun rock walls to the classic climbs, with scouts belaying each other and supporting their mates. Some of the older scouts even gave bouldering a go!

It was a night full of laughs, encouragement, and a great way to cap off the term. Now that the school holidays are here (with Easter and ANZAC Day just around the corner), we want to wish all our scouts and their families a safe and happy break.

Enjoy the holidays—rest up, have fun, and we’ll see you all again when Term 2 kicks off!

⛵️Auckland Regatta at Lake Pupuke🚣

Another massive weekend on the water for our Papakura Sea Scout youth!

We kicked things off Friday night with set-up in the rain, but the regatta gods must’ve been smiling on us—Saturday morning brought a glassy lake, clear skies, and a perfect breeze for sailing.

Sunday rolled in with rowing events and an epic Tug of War where our juniors absolutely smashed it!

Papakura had an incredible turnout this year, entering youth across all junior, intermediate, senior, and open categories. Our crews competed in Cutter Sailing, Sunburst Sailing, Cutter Rowing, Kayaking, Iron Man, Seamanship, and Tug of War—what a lineup!

A huge thank you to all the leaders and parents who support and rally behind our young people. These amazing experiences are only possible because of the incredible team around us. We’re so proud of everyone who took part.

Slightly different base of operations this week

Our Scouts traveled to Papatoetoe Scout troop tonight to join in some team building games, Compass Course, Map Reading and some good old school land based fun

Thank you for having us Papatoetoe Scout Troop and Mangere Bridge Scouts for having us. We all really enjoyed this evening
