Next Tuesday 21st April, we are holding our free OPEN HOUSE meeting, and everyone is welcome.

Come along and see why so many people have discovered Toastmasters to be one of the most supportive, confidence-building, and enjoyable ways to grow their speaking and leadership skills.

No pressure to do anything — you’re welcome to just sit back, enjoy the evening, and see what it’s all about.

We are back tomorrow night!

This week we're hosting our leg of the International Speech Contest and the Speech Evaluation Contest - the first step in competitions that continue through the year: the winner of our club competition goes on to the Area then National contest, and the winner of the National contest represents us at the global Finals. The result is a handful of speakers putting their best foot forward in the hopes of advancing.

As always, guests are more than welcome to join us - we're on from 7.00pm tomorrow at Navigators on Wood St. We'd love to see you there.

We are back TONIGHT, meeting at Navigators on Wood St from 7pm!

The theme of tonight's meeting is The Power Of Confidence and that is one place where Toastmasters Papakura excels - we are proud to be home to a beautifully diverse group of people, and encouragement and growth are two of the most important aspects of being part of our club. Pictured are Harsh, Jing and Samuel, our most recent meeting award winners for Table Topics, Evaluation and Speech - just one way that we celebrate each other.

Toastmasters Papakura - in fact Toastmasters *anywhere* - is a great place to grow, to feel a part of something, and to engage your confidence as a speaker and as part of a team.

Join us for our year-ending reading contest - our members will compete to see who is the best public reader, choosing a piece of publicly available writing and presenting it to the audience. Plus, an extend break in the middle for a cup of tea and a biscuit and a chance to get to know us.

The latest episode of the Toastmasters Podcast is a goodie - while we're a community club, some Toastmasters branches are corporate clubs, operating within businesses. Lance Kotler joins host Greg Gazin to talk about some of the keys to making a corporate club work - but it doesn't just apply to Toastmasters, there is some great advice here for making any corporate club work! I'm going to apply some of these tips to my board game group; hopefully I can beat the CEO at Ticket To Ride sometime soon!
