The Sunday Slalom Group had a great summer kayaking on the lagoon and the river, finishing with an awesome trip through the Manawatū Gorge.
We’re still paddling at the lagoon on Sundays at 3pm over winter. If anyone aged between 10 and 16 is keen to learn kayaking and try paddling a slalom boat, you’re very welcome to come along and get involved.

This is the hireage and club recreational boats shed at the moment...please keep it this way with the pathways and access to club boats clear so our whānau membership and recreational paddlers can enjoy getting out on the water this long Waitangi Day weekend🛶

Unfortunately when common sense isn't so common🙄

If your rubbish is too big to fit in the small bag in the changing rooms...how about you put it in the large bin just outside the club door to save others cleaning up after you...

A record 93 paddlers hit the water today for the 2026 RANGITIKEI RIVER RACE!!

With the flow at 20cumecs everyone had a hard grind ahead of them, congrats to all of you who raced and thanks again for supporting the event. Plenty of learnings and some good battles played out once again!

Special mention to our 2026 fastest male Campbell Gray, and our resident top wāhine Rachel Cashin who has dominated the fastest female spot for so many years we've lost count!!💪🏾

Biggest thanks to Anne and the Cairns whānau and friends who make this day the event it is, and to the Mangaweka Adventure Company crew for keeping everyone safe on the awa.

Good luck and safe travels to everyone heading down to C2C🤙🏾
