HWC are looking for a counsellor/mental health clinician (30-40 hours per week), for a 2 year fixed term position.
About the role
All applicants will need to have:
• Experience in working with young people of high need (social work and/or family/group work, counselling, programme delivery etc.)
• A Counselling, Social Work qualification, or equivalent (e.g. psychology, nursing etc.) and/ or relevant experience in community & youth development work.
• Ability to work with Māori and Pacific Rangatahi.
• Knowledge of Tikanga and Te Reo Māori, an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the Community.
• A full, clean driver's Licence
• Good communication skills (written, verbal and computer literacy)
• Have an understanding of Youth and whānau development and ecology.
• Must be registered with your professional body or be working towards registration
Skills and Experience
Youth, Whānau & Community Workers will also need: A Counselling, Social Work qualification, or equivalent (e.g. psychology, nursing, etc.) and/ or relevant experience in community & youth development work.
