Congratulations to Feilding High School for winning the Manawatu Wanganui Secondary School Championship Team event today at Levin Golf Club. William Dunsmore from Horowhenua College won the individual event.

The 3rd Futures Development Day for the season, was held on the 24th May at Golf Club with players focusing on assessing and understanding their short game performance.

Through a series of short game tests, players gained valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement around the greens. The session encouraged players to reflect on their results and identify key areas to focus on in their future practice.

The day also included another round of our Ryder Cup-style team competition, with the honours shared once again. Europe maintains a narrow one-point lead as we head into the next session.

It’s been fantastic to see players continuing to develop their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game while building connections with others in the programme.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the next Futures Development Day on the Saturday 20 June and welcoming any new players who would like to get involved.

Last Sunday we had our 2nd Futures Development Day for the season, with another fantastic session full of learning, competition, and plenty of fun.
This session focused on understanding different types of practice — including block, random, and games-based practice — and how each can be used to support improvement and performance on the course. Players left with practical ideas and resources they can continue using in their own training.
The day finished with Round 2 of our Ryder Cup-style team competition, with both teams sharing the honours and the overall contest still wide open heading into the next session.
It’s been great to see players building confidence, connecting with others, and developing their understanding of the game in such a positive environment.
We’re looking forward to the next Futures Development Day - Saturday 23rd May, back at Manawatu Golf Club - and welcoming any new players keen to get involved (contact [email protected])

Great first day for the 2026 Manawatu Wanganui Age Group Champs being held at Rangitikei Golf Club. The sun finally came out and we had a dry but windy 1st round.

The first session of our Futures Development Day series was a great success — with new friendships formed and plenty of fun and learning throughout the day.

Players focused on building a simple, purposeful warm-up and pre-game routine, giving them something practical to take into both practice and play. The energy lifted with a fun putting challenge, followed by on-course play in a Ryder Cup-style team format, creating a competitive and supportive environment for everyone involved.

A strong start to the series, with great engagement and enthusiasm shown across the group.

A big thank you to Brydie and Tim at The Manawatu Golf Club for hosting and running such a great day.

We’re looking forward to the next Futures Development Day on Saturday 2nd May.
