Environment Network Manawatū Our kaupapa
ENM exists to connect and inspire communities for environmental action.

We provide leadership across the sector, help build skills and capacity, and foster a sense of community. ENM is the environment hub for the Manawatū Region with the key purpose of facilitating and enabling communication, cooperation, and increasing collective action amongst its member groups and the wider community. ENM provides leadership by fostering and encouraging environmental initiatives in

the region and our 62 current member groups are from throughout the Manawatū River Catchment with interests including biodiversity regeneration, freshwater management, citizen science, food security and resilience, sustainable living, alternative energies, and active transport. The network is administered as an Incorporated Society by a Management Committee, elected from member group representatives. The ENM Management Committee and all ENM representatives will meet at least four times a year.

We’ve been asking people for their ideas about an Environment Centre here in the Manawatū, and we’re excited about what’s coming through.

As we take the next steps, we’d love to hear from you. What do you think the main purpose of an Environment Centre should be?

Last call for registrations for our Composting Workshop this Saturday!

Learning how to create your own healthy, balanced compost is a cornerstone of self sufficiency. Save money by turning your household and garden waste into nutrient rich food for your plants. If the contents of your compost bin are often slimy and smelly, we can show you how to turn this around.

This workshop is FREE (although koha is appreciated). Hot drinks and afternoon tea provided. Saturday May 30th 1-3pm at the Olsson Community Orchard, Ashhurst. Please register at recap.org.nz.
