Wow! We’re so grateful to our community and Z Energy Terrace End!

Thanks to everyone who put their tokens in for ACROSS in the Good in the Hood campaign, we received $772 to support the work we do in our community.

This wasn't just a donation from Z Terrace End, it was made possible by all of you who took the time to support us. Every token counted, and together you helped make a real difference.

A big thank you to Z Terrace End for backing local groups, and to our amazing community for getting behind ACROSS. We really appreciate your support and trust in what we do.

Ngā mihi everyone! 💙

Mental Health Awareness Week is coming up! 💚

Taking small, daily actions for your wellbeing can make a world of difference. Not just for ourselves, but for those around us. Whether it’s connecting with a friend, taking a mindful walk, or checking in on someone who might need support, every step counts.

✨ Daily Wellbeing Action Ideas:
• Reach out to someone for a quick chat or catch-up.
• Take 5 minutes to pause, breathe, and ground yourself.
• Remind a friend, colleague, or family member that they aren't alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reaching out for counselling or professional support is a sign of strength. Let’s look out for each other and prioritize our mental health every day.

As we warmly welcome Srijana, our Sustainable Development Practicum Student, to the team, we also want to take a moment to acknowledge the devastating floods that have recently impacted communities across Nepal.

Our hearts go out to Srijana, her loved ones, and the wider Nepalese community as they navigate the impacts of this tragedy. The floods have claimed lives, displaced families, and caused significant hardship for many communities.

In response, the Government of Nepal is coordinating relief, rescue, and recovery efforts through the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. For those who would like to support the people affected, donations can be made through the official fund:

We are grateful to have Srijana join our team and bring her passion for sustainable development to our organisation. At this challenging time, we stand in solidarity with her and all those affected across Nepal.

The number of people missing in Nepal after the massive flash flood on Wednesday has risen to 4,247 - with at least 903 people known to have died.

The Chapple family has been a valued part of the ACROSS whānau, including through their connection to our Board. It is heartening to see their generosity continuing to support community initiatives through the donation of this van.

Community supporting community is what makes a real difference. Thank you to the Chapple family and all those working tirelessly to help others. 💙

Ok they say put something out into the universe and see what comes back… so here goes 🤞🦋

BCC - is absolutely chockablock… we need all to pick up their requests please urgently , as we have another 20 odd sitting in our “email in-box” to start on Monday.

Just to confirm our 60+ service organisations pick up their requests and deliver … these are requests direct to us from public .

Brett - driver of the van donated by the Chapple family has offered this Wednesday to drive around between Palmy , Feilding and wider to deliver your box ups if needed… BUT …this comes at a cost to us :-

SO:- .. Do we ask each box up request to pay $5 for box up to be dropped off Wednesday?

Or:-…Do we hope we get generously gifted a Petrol Card ?

As we know as soon as we start deliveries on a Wednesday this will become more regular :- yes Brett will always travel with a mate - yes box ups will be put just inside your fence and you will receive a text to say they are there…but this is a big undertaking for BCC - especially Brett and a colleague who are offering this .

Community - supporting community, not for profit now over 100,000+ items in 6months have been returned to community in support .. do we now do this step..-as we have no room left 🤷‍♀️👍

That's where you can help.

Every donation, big or small, can make a real difference. Your support helps provide warmth, comfort, and practical assistance to people who need it most.

Together, we can help ensure no one in our community goes without this winter.

Losing someone to su***de is a painful and life-changing experience. Many people who are grieving this loss also face silence, stigma, or feel that others don't understand what they're going through.

By talking openly and showing kindness, we can help break down the stigma surrounding su***de loss. No one should have to grieve alone.
