Tōtara Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their whānau across South and South East Auckland.

Last month, RRT was glad to support Walk2Remember at the Auckland Botanic Gardens with a donation of 240 water bottles for participants taking part in this community event of remembrance and reflection. We were honoured to be involved in a day that brought people together in memory of loved ones while raising support for hospice care in the local community.

Te Puna Whai Mātauranga provides social services and mentoring support for disadvantaged young people, including students across Waiopehu College, Manawatū College and Horowhenua College.

RRT recently donated 50 FreshStarrt Care Kits, filled with essential hygiene items, to help support teenagers who are facing hardship. We're glad to lend a hand to the team at Te Puna Whai Mātauranga as they continue their important work alongside local rangatahi ❤️

Hamilton City Civil Defence helps communities prepare for and respond to emergencies, including supporting people who may be displaced during an event.

As part of a training exercise last Tuesday, local students from Fairfield College and volunteers from the Group Civil Defence team took part in a simulated welfare centre setup. RRT provided 80 sausage sandwiches for participants and had the opportunity to share how we support Civil Defence during real emergency responses and community welfare events.

This week marks National Volunteer Week (Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu), and we want to acknowledge the RRT volunteers who give their time to support communities across New Zealand.

So far this year, RRT volunteers have contributed more than 17,500 hours at events around the country. Whether it's serving first responders, supporting community events, or helping deliver practical relief, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. They're the people behind the BBQs, the logistics, the planning, the conversations and the care that helps make each event possible.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers!

Taranaki Search and Rescue volunteers provide vital search and rescue support across the region and regularly take part in training exercises to keep their skills sharp.

During the Dawson Falls SAREX training event on 16–17 May, RRT helped keep the team fuelled, serving 50 Signature Burgers on Saturday and providing 40 pies and filled rolls on Sunday. Thanks to Taranaki SAR for having us along and for the work you do in our communities. 🚁🍔

52,000 moments of joy. 100 healthcare events. 10 countries. One purpose.

Throughout May and early June, RRT volunteers around the world came together to recognise the nurses, midwives and healthcare workers who care for our communities every day on .

From hospital entrances to staff break rooms, volunteers served hot meals, fresh coffee and plenty of appreciation to those who spend their lives caring for others.

To every RRT volunteer who made these events possible, and to every healthcare worker who stopped by, thank you.

Here are some highlights from around the globe!

Whakamaru School is a small rural school supporting local tamariki and whānau, including students who need extra support to access their learning. Through the school's Learning Support Coordinator, a need was identified for additional support around personal hygiene and self-care for a group of senior students.

RRT was glad to provide 30 FreshStarrt Care Kits to help meet that need and support the work being done by the school staff.
