Pint of Science arrives in New Zealand!

Pint of Science is an award-winning international science festival held simultaneously around the world over three days in May. The festival’s success has been expanding globally since its inception in London in 2012, in 2013 Pint of Science spread to include Cambridge and Oxford. By 2016 the Pint of Science network hosted 350 events in 25 cities in the UK, in 2017 it spread beyond the UK to include 100 cities in 12 nations. 2018 saw Pint of Science hold simultaneous events in 300 cities across 21 different countries and attracted over 100,000 people to events. Pint of Science has yet to reach New Zealand until now!

The Central Economic Development Agency (CEDA) is thrilled to be bringing Pint of Science to New Zealand for 2019, bringing together the thinkers and the drinkers at events that are relaxed, accessible and most of all fascinating. Experts in their fields explain their scientific discoveries at events organised via partnerships with universities and research institutions. Pint of Science New Zealand will run an event programme that supports the amazing research being done across the nation and will allow a new audience to hear about complicated, futuristic thinking and hot-from-the-laboratory discoveries, in an accessible format and a fun environment.
