PARE HAURAKI FISHING TRUST – SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

The Pare Hauraki Fishing Trust will hold a Special General Meeting to consider and vote on proposed amendments to the Trust Deed.

The amendments are required to ensure the Trust Deed complies with the Māori Fisheries Act 2004, as amended in 2024.

MEETING DETAILS
Date: Saturday, 17 October 2026
Time: 10.30am
Venue: Matai Whetu Marae

Proposed Resolution
Members will be asked to vote on the following resolution:
“That the proposed amendments to the Trust Deed of the Pare Hauraki Fishing Trust:
(a) be adopted; and
(b) will take effect immediately; and
(c) are for the collective benefit of all members of Hauraki Iwi.”

How to Vote
Voting papers will be available at the Special General Meeting.
If you would like to vote by post or online, you can request a voting paper in advance from the Hauraki Māori Trust Board:

Requests for postal voting papers must be received by Thursday 22 October. Requests for online voting details can be made right up until voting closes at 12 noon on Friday 30 October.

Pare Hauraki Fishing Trust Special General Meeting - Amendments to Pare Hauraki Fishing Trust Deed.

On 17 October 2026 at Matai Whetu Marae, the Pare Hauraki Fishing Trust will hold a Special General Meeting to seek approval of amendments to its Trust Deed. These amendments are technical in nature and are required for the Trust to maintain its status as the Mandated Iwi Organisation for Hauraki iwi under the Māori Fisheries Act 2004, and its entitlement to aquaculture settlement assets under the Māori Commercial Aquaculture Claims Settlement Act 2004. Formal notice of the Meeting will be given within the next 10 days.

Voting on the amendments will be by way of postal ballot, online voting or in person at the Meeting. If you would like to receive a postal ballot form and notice of the proposed amendments, please let us know by email [email protected], by phone 0508 HMTB 88 or by mail PO Box 33, Paeroa 3640.
