Whenua Kete Limited was formed in 1999 to take over the Maori land administration practice Wallace Bain Law Office, formerly Phillips and Powell law practice. Directors, Merilyn Connolly and Margaret Wereta, have accumulated between them over 80 years of Maori trust administration experience, together with practical accounting and legal expertise. They are ably supported by Veronica Haumaha, Keri

Downs & Bev Rewi-Wetini. Whenua Kete Limited offers clients the following:
• managements of all aspects of administration for Maori Trusts and Incorporations from inception;
• preparation of Financial Statements
• preparation of tax returns and any other tax-related matters as a registered tax agent;
• preparation and assistance with General meetings of beneficial owners;
• maintenance of owner databases;
• distribution of profits to beneficial owners;
• administration of leased Maori land from the tendering process through to the collection of rental on the owners’ behalf;
• Maori Land Court work involving applications on behalf of Trusts and individuals. Clients range from small trusts, to forestry, dairy, beef & sheep farming and marine farming enterprises, and trusts which have created subdivisions for the purpose of sale of sections.
