Early days of the lodge...(Some things have changed!)

Come stay in our slice of the 'good old days' at Kereru Lodge, nestled in the bush clad hills above the Otaki river. This historic A-frame lodge was built by volunteers and has been a base for many scouting adventures and sleepover since.

The Lodge sits at a short walk to the Otaki river swimming holes and short drive to the Otaki forks and Tararua tramping tracks. Only a 20 minute drive to Otaki or Waikanae makes Kereru Lodge well situated for overnight and weekend stays as day activities.

Set at affordable group prices, with a discount for NZ Scouting and associates youth organisations

Sleeps 15 comfortably. One large sleeping loft with mattress, one seperate bedroom - 1x double bed, 1x single bed.

Plenty of paddock space for activities and to pitch tents.

Cooking facilities include a fridge/freezer, running tap water (tank not potable), gas hobs, microwave, full kitchen crockery, cutlery and pots/pans. BBQ.

Dining facilities: four tables with seats Inside, bbq tables outside.

Comfy lounge area with a wood burner to make the lodge toasty.

Seperate ablutions block with male/female toilets (flushing) and shower (cold)

Parking areas

Large fire pit for marshmallows a d campfire songs.

Beautiful dark sky outlook for star gazing
