🙏 "Our tipuna taught us to manaaki i te tanata, ahakoa ko wai" aye whānau🫂

🌙 Tuesday night we had some manuhiri up in the Waimana valley for the ROAR, ae they were two hunters with permits. At about 10pm -10.30pm these two manuhiri while up at Te Panaa hut were confronted by a patched gang member and 3 others. Manuhiri were threatened with a rifle to be shot.

The manuhiri gathered their gear and walked out during the night, they are now home safe, but shaken. 😔

This is not us aye whānau?
We look after people. We make sure everyone is safe in our nahere. That's our way aye?

This behaviour is not on. If you know anything about this incident please report it to the police by ringing 105 or to the Waimana Tribal.

Let's keep our whārua and nahere safe for everyone.

Kia kaha tātau!
