Kua hinga te tōtara i Te Waonui-a-Tāne. Kua tau mai te mamae nui ki runga i te whānau whānui i te hinganga o tō mātou taonga aroha, a Miria Hapainga Te Mamaea Penney (nee Naera). He pou tokomanawa, he puna aroha, he kaiwhakatipu i te whānau.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved
Miria Te Mamaea Hapainga Penney (née Naera).
A treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunty and respected kuia to many, her passing leaves a deep sorrow felt throughout the whānau and all those whose lives she touched.
Her aroha, strength, wisdom and mana will forever remain with us.
Preparations are being made for Miria to lay at Te Whakamaharatanga Marae in Waimamaku from 2PM on Friday 22nd May where whānau and friends are warmly welcomed to come and pay their respects.
Funeral service will be on Monday 25th May. Details will be advised once confirmed.
