Ongaonga Playcentre invites families with tamariki aged 0 ā 6 years to visit and see what we do ā we would love to meet you and your whÄnau!
At Playcentre early childhood education is a shared journey. We value parents as the first and best educators for their tamariki, which is why parents attend alongside their tamariki ā to play, learn and grow together.
Whether you have a new pÄpÄ«, preschooler, or are new to the community, Ongaonga Playcentre provides a place for whÄnau and communities to come together.
We offer an affordable, unique, child-led environment where tamariki learn through free play, nurturing imagination, confidence, and connection.
Our sessions follow the Ministry of Educationās bicultural curriculum, Te WhÄriki, with different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.
Your tamariki will have opportunities to explore, create, climb, read, sing, experiment, garden, cook, build, dance, spend time in nature and get messy ā with activities changing daily. Playcentre parents bring diverse skills, interests, and cultural backgrounds, enriching the learning environment.
Each Playcentre is part of Playcentre Aotearoa, with staff providing administrative support. We also provide a free adult education programme for enrolled whÄnau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.
