⛈️ Heavy rain has fallen overnight! Drive with great care expecting slippery roads and possible hazards like fallen trees or flooding. Expect river and stream levels to be much higher than usual, and to be flowing with a lot more force. Levels may also continue to rise rapidly.

A list of road closures is now available on our website:

Photo: The Ngaiotonga Bridge has been washed out on Rawhiti Road, just south of Whangaruru Nth Road. While this is in Far North District, it shows the kinds of impacts and impassable hazards to be aware of if you are traveling today.
