New Cancer Survivor Exercise Class Planned for Omokoroa
The Rotary Club of Omokoroa is proud to support a Men’s Cancer Survivor Exercise Class, providing an opportunity for local men to improve their strength, fitness and wellbeing while connecting with others who have experienced cancer.
The class has been going well and has quickly become a valued part of the community. The focus is on gentle, appropriate exercise, building confidence and improving overall fitness in a supportive and friendly environment.
The initiative recognizes that recovery from cancer is about more than medical treatment. Staying active, maintaining strength and having social connections can all play an important role in helping people move forward.
Following the positive response to the men’s class, the Rotary Club of Omokoroa is now investigating the possibility of establishing a Women’s Cancer Survivor Exercise Class in Omokoroa.
The proposed women’s class would take place at Common Ground Gym and provide a welcoming and supportive environment for women who have been affected by cancer and would like to improve their fitness, strength and wellbeing alongside others with similar experiences.
At this stage, Rotary is seeking expressions of interest from women who may be interested in attending. This will help us understand the level of interest and determine whether a women’s class is viable.
