People assume:
“They’re on a benefit, so that’s all they get.”
That is not true.
Here’s a real example:🔥
A man with a long-term sore knee was living on a benefit. No one told him his injury could be classed as permanent.
Once he was properly assessed through Accident Compensation Corporation, his knee injury was accepted as permanent and he received a lump sum in the tens of thousands of dollars💲💲💲
If an injury came from an accident, ACC may be responsible for more support — but only if you know to ask.
Work and Income benefits are meant to be a safety net, not the end of the road
