About me and what I stand for.
Kia ora. I am Mike Shaw, Independent Candidate for Northland, New Zealand.
I have lived and worked in Northland for over 35 years. My background is in the primary industries, namely forestry and horticulture and then in the later part of my career the social sector and education. I am a company director and a trustee on several boards. I am passionate about life.
I am offering solid leadership that honours LIFE. The main plank of my policy framework is to introduce to parliament the “Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Bill.
It was Dame Whina Cooper who said, "Take care of our children...For how the children grow, so will be the shape of Aotearoa." For me, this is from the womb onto independent young adulthood.
