Where did our fisheries rights and assets come from? What does Ngāpuhi hold today? And what do current conversations about the health of our moana, fishing methods and fisheries policy mean for us?

With important decisions being made about the future of fisheries in Aotearoa, we want to make sure our uri understand our Fisheries Settlement, the assets and rights it provides, and why Ngāpuhi needs to be part of these conversations.

You are warmly invited to attend the third Charter School conversion of Northland College community hui. This hui follows the previous two community hui and will provide:
-feedback from what was heard across the earlier hui
-information responding to questions raised by the community
-a chance to hear positive Charter School examples

Following this hui, a decision will be made on whether to submit the Charter School application.
This kōrero is about shaping a stronger future for our tamariki and mokopuna. One that reflects their potential, their identity, and the aspirations of our whānau and tauira.

Nau mai e te whānau whānui ki Te Kaikohekohe, ki te whakanui i tō tātou reo, i tō tātou kāinga, i tō tātou iwi!

Join our hīkoi in Kaikohe to celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori on Wednesday 16 September 🚶♀️🚶♂️🏁

The hīkoi will start at Northland College (62 Managkāhia Road), and travel along Broadway Street, continue onto Raihara Street, and end at Papa Hawaiki (32 Recreation Road) .

Then performances, giveaways and whānau activities will all kick off at Papa Hawaiki.

Hīkoi schedule to come.

✨Iwi Māori Workforce Teaching Support Scholarship - He Karahipi Kaiako Rūmaki Reo Māori mō Ngāpuhi! ✨

Are you Ngāpuhi and studying and planning to work in the Mid-North region as a Māori-medium or Kura Kaupapa Māori teacher?�

Applications are still open for the Iwi Māori Workforce Teaching Support Scholarship - He Karahipi Kaiako Rūmaki Reo Māori mō Ngāpuhi! Applicants should be currently enrolled. Applicants that intend to enrol to study next year, should apply for the next scholarship round. Successful applicants can use their scholarship for study-related costs, including travel, childcare, technology, and wellbeing needs.

This scholarship is designed to support Ngāpuhi tauira on their journey to becoming qualified kaiako and contributing to the future of Māori-medium education in the Mid North rohe.
