🚨 NZ-RT5 North Shore Response Team – Keeping Busy! 🚨
It’s been a busy few weeks for our team, with plenty of training, community engagement and opportunities to keep our skills sharp.
💙 We were proud to attend the Race4Life charity event, supporting a fantastic cause and being part of a very special day.
⚜️ We also had a great time with the Mayfair Scout Group, showing them some of the skills our responders use. The Scouts got hands-on with First Aid, Search and Rescue techniques, and even had a go at safely carrying a patient on a stretcher.
🚙 Our team continued developing their 4WD driving skills, preparing for the challenging conditions we may need to operate in during emergencies.
🌧️ With severe weather always a possibility, we also practised sandbagging techniques and pump operations, building our capability to respond to flooding and storm-related incidents.
🏠 We worked on setting up and operating a Civil Defence Welfare Centre, ensuring our responders are ready to support people and communities affected by an emergency.
🚨 And our drivers have been continuing their Emergency Response Driving training, developing the skills needed to get our people and equipment where they are needed safely and efficiently.
A great mix of training, teamwork, community engagement and readiness — all part of keeping our volunteers prepared to support Auckland when it matters most.
Training hard, supporting our community and having a bit of fun along the way! 💪🚨
