๐ก โซ๏ธ SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT: Bartercard Taranaki Women ๐ก โซ๏ธ
Taranaki Cricket is excited to announce its 20-player Bartercard New Zealand Taranaki Womenโs Squad for the 2026/27 season, with a strong mix of Central Districts Hinds players, experienced senior cricketers and exciting young talent coming through the Taranaki pathway.
The squad provides a balance of experience across the batting and bowling groups, while also creating opportunities for the next generation of Taranaki players to develop within the senior environment.
A new addition to the squad for 2026/27 is Yaz Kareem, following her recent contract with the Central Districts Hinds. Kareem joins the Taranaki group with experience at the representative level and will add further depth and quality to the squadโs batting options. Her inclusion alongside homegrown Hinds players Jessie Hollard and Grace Foreman provides an important link between Taranaki Cricket and the Central Districts pathway.
Kerry Tomlinson returns for another season with Taranaki as Head Coach, and will work with Amy Foreman as part of the coaching and management team. Their experience will be valuable in guiding a squad that includes both established players and a number of emerging cricketers.
The squad also features a strong group of senior and developing Taranaki players, with Charlotte Blackmore, Emily Cunningham, Zoe Ellerton-Kelly, Abbie Holmes, Cara Hollard, Maddie Mackenzie, Caitlin Marshall, Lucy Mitchell, Niamh Moriarty and Callie Visser all returning to the group.
A major focus for Taranaki Cricket continues to be developing players through the pathway, with five younger cricketers earning Development Player status for the 2026/27 season.
Abbey Fleming, Ella Wanahi, Emma Taylor, Rheanna Mack and Evie Ander have all earned their opportunity to be part of the senior squad. The Development Players will train and work alongside the experienced members of the squad, providing them with valuable exposure to senior cricket and an opportunity to continue their progression.
The combination of Hinds experience, quality senior players and emerging junior talent gives Taranaki a well-rounded squad heading into the new season.
The side will play in the Central Districts Copelin Cup 40-over competition and Shrimpton Trophy T20 tournament with away matches in Palmerston North, Masterton and Levin. Taranaki Cricket is pleased the side will get three chances to play on Pukekura Park this season.
With strong representation across the different stages of the pathway, Taranaki Cricket is continuing to build an environment where players can develop, compete and progress towards higher levels of cricket.
