Mark your calendars: Greenwood Archers WA Field Tournament is in less than 4 weeks time on the 25th/26th of April. Today we decided to test out the course to make sure everything runs smoothly. We had heaps of fun and guess what...we didn't lose one arrow!!! We can't wait to host our first Major tournament in a decade or two. Hop onto Archery OSA and register before the line is full!

Greenwood Archers held a WAA600 round and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The sun was shining 🌞 and there was not a breath of wind around. What a fun shoot with great people, great food and best of all...shooting arrows on the line with friends!

Greenwood Archers contested the Loudon Trophy at Whanganui Archery over the last weekend. It’s a 3 person team event 90 arrows at 37M. Terry Mills, John Ellis and Bob Lowe shot good scores but we were beaten by better teams on the day! Manawatu Archery Club won and retained the Trophy. We came 4th behind 2 teams from Randwick club. Great shoot, but all we came back with is a picture of the Trophy. Maybe next year?

What a fantastic archery weekend at Greenwood Archers. Thanks to the archers coming from Wellington, Kapiti and Wanganui to shoot with us. Saturday we shot a field shoot, animal targets. Sunday a 30M WAA 600 shoot. Congratulations to those that received medals and Perfect Pins, especially Juniors shooting their first Tournament. Great to see all our new targets in use.

Greenwood Archers New Plymouth had their AGM yesterday. It was a big one because our wonderful Barbara Scott who has given years of service to the club and stood as our president for the past 8 years had decided to step down from her position. Fortunately she will stay with us to coach and shoot and guide us along our Archery journeys. We decided to honor Barbara by giving her LIFE MEMBERSHIP at our club. She truly deserves it!
Nicole Derham was nominated in as the clubs new president and I have really really big shoes to fill. Nicole says β€˜It will be my privilege to support the club as I know I have a committee equally invested as myself. A big shout out to Bob Lowe for all you do as the secretary and treasurer of the club but also for all the hard Mahi and effort put into grant applications and keeping our community involvement and beginners courses thriving. β€˜

Attached are some pics of the recipients of our indoor and outdoor awards for 2024/2025. Congratulations to all the Archers 🏹 πŸ‘

Who doesn't love a good raffle??? At Greenwood Archers New Plymouth we don't do things in half measure. We sold almost 250 raffle tickets over the past 2 weeks to our club members. And yes Nicole Derham had the fun but silly idea (because of the work involved) of placing each sold ticket into a balloon to pop. The first balloon shot by our youngest club archer won the "sorry you lost" prize of a giant Toblerone. The last balloon standing on the wall won the big raffle. It was carnage and those poor balloons never stood a chance. 4 rounds later and 250 balloons gone, the winner was Joel who is unfortunately in Australia on holiday. Let's see what fun shoot I can think of for next years raffle.

A few Greenwood Club Members began installing our new target butts. The goal is to ensure our targets meet the standards needed to host higher level tournaments at Greenwood. Three done, seven to go. A couple more weekends and we should have it complete. Terry took the first shot at a new target and thinks they work!!
Thanks to the installation team and to New Zealand Community Trust for financial support.

So incredibly grateful to everyone who came to the 'Have-a-Go" fundraiser on this beautiful day at the range, for little Lilah Hayman and her family. It was a fantastic day with some really great shooting by everyone who attended. Big shout-out also to Kiwi Butcher for the delicious sausages and our Greenwood coaches, shooters, juniors and their parents who assisted with making this event absolutely awesome and we thank you so much for all your support. The 'Have-a-Go" raised a whopping $632.60 for the Hayman family Ay-May-Zing!! And will be given to Lilah and her family to help with her transition in Australia. 🎯🏹☺️
