Something BIG is coming…

This year marks the 24th New Zealand Scout Jamboree, and it’s shaping up to be an experience like no other!

🤝 New friends from across Aotearoa
🌍 Challenges, activities, and memories that last a lifetime

If you’re a Scout who can go and you’re keen on adventure, teamwork, and trying something new, this is for you.

We’re starting to gauge interest now. Fundraising will be part of the journey, which will provide plenty of opportunities to help make Jamboree achievable for everyone.

From Monday, 28 December 2026, to Thursday, 7 January 2027, Scouts Aotearoa will host the 24th Aotearoa New Zealand Scout Jamboree at Mystery Creek, Hamilton, Waikato – the largest Scouting event in the country!

As we wrap up another fantastic year on the water and on shore, we’d like to wish all our Scouts, families, volunteers, supporters, and the wider Mikotahi community a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy New Year.

Thank you for being part of our journey in 2025 – from adventures afloat to skills learned, friendships formed, and memories made. We couldn’t do it without the amazing support of our whānau and community.

We hope the festive season brings you calm seas, fair winds, and plenty of time to relax with loved ones. We look forward to another exciting year of Scouting ahead!

Enjoy Rogaine? Or want to try Rogaine?

This short rogaine in Pukekura Park is a great opportunity to get the whole family involved.

Also excellent training for any intermediate students thinking of attending AIMS games.

Rogaining is a sport that involves navigating with a map (and a compass if you know how to use one, but these events can be done without one). The goal is to visit as many checkpoints and score the most points as you can within a set time limit.

Solo or in teams of 2–5 people, you choose your own route and checkpoints you wish to visit.
Checkpoints are marked with orange and white flags
Each checkpoint is worth a different number of points
Teams lose points for finishing late

On Monday our Keas had an awesome evening exploring Lake Rotomanu!
We went on a walk around the lake, spotting birds, skipping stones, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

It was great to see so many smiling faces and hear plenty of laughter along the way — a perfect mix of fun, friends, and adventure!
