Conductive Education Taranaki NZ

Conductive Education Taranaki NZ What is Conductive Education (CE)? Movement is everything. Strengthen - Learn for Life
CE takes a learning approach. We're 100% community-funded.

Conductive Education Taranaki is a charitable trust dedicated to maximising abilities, supporting people to become more independent, confident and socially connected. We're here because we believe every child has the right to reach their full potential, and we believe that Conductive Education can empower, strengthen and support kids living with disabilities to achieve it. Empower - Build Independ

ence and Confidence
We encourage kids with disabilities to become more confident, more independent and to grow in self-esteem. When people are motivated and engaged in meaningful ways, they are capable of building new neural pathways. Support - Connected whānau and communities
Kids learn alongside other kids, and so does whānau. We're all connected, and we're all here to support each other. If you want to know whether Conductive Education might be right for you or someone you know, please send us a message here or email [email protected]. Every little bit helps! If you have a little bit to give, here's where you can do that: https://conductivetaranaki.org.nz/donations/

This week, we celebrate the incredible people who generously give their time, energy and talents to support Conductive Education Taranaki.

To our amazing volunteers, thank you!
Whether you're helping at events, assisting at camp, fundraising, lending a hand behind the scenes, or simply saying “yes” when we need help, you make a huge difference.

Your kindness, dedication and willingness to support our organisation helps us continue providing opportunities for local tamariki with disabilities and their whānau. Quite simply, we couldn't do what we do without you.

During National Volunteer Week, we celebrate each and every one of you and the impact you make every day.

Thank you for giving your time, you are truly appreciated.

This years bespoke Americarna piece was delivered to its new owner, Deb over the weekend. It has taken pride of place next to another Americarna set from 2024. Thank you so much for your support Deb, it means a lot to us.

Thank you to Craig, who thinks up & creates these amazing pieces year after year!
Thank you to AmeriCARna (Official) for allowing us to auction these off & be part of the event each year.

Local legend Ben Price has recently discovered a passion for running and wants to use that passion to give back to causes close to his heart - starting with Conductive Education Taranaki.

During the month of June, Ben will be taking on a big challenge - running the date in kilometres each day. That means 1km on June 1st, 15km on June 15th, all the way through to 30km on June 30th, plus he is adding in an extra day for 35km on July 1st to make it a total of 500km!

You are welcome to join Ben for a run or even take on the challenge yourself!

Thank you so much for your support. Every donation, kilometre, and word of encouragement makes a difference.

A very special week for Kevin receiving his medal and being invested into the New Zealand Order of Merit by the Governor-General of New Zealand, Rt Hon Dame Cindy Kiro.

Kevin, we congratulate you and thank you for your tireless service to the wider disability community and to Conductive Education Taranaki. You have sat on our board since day one and have never missed a fundraiser or camp, we are very grateful for your belief in what we do.

As below, Kevin's citation that was read out at the ceremony.

Mr Kevin Nielsen, of New Plymouth, MNZM for services to the community and people with disabilities.

Mr Kevin Nielsen was the Chief Executive of Hospice Taranaki for 15 years, advocating tirelessly for increased funding for the Hospice. He played a key role in fundraising to build the in-patient Hospice facility and organised the opening of hospice shops in New Plymouth, Hawera and Stratford. As a Board member of Hospice New Zealand, he strove to ensure the long-term sustainability of hospice services nationally. He was involved with the Disability Working Group while serving on the Taranaki District Health Board. Mr Nielsen helped establish Enabling Good Lives Taranaki and Conductive Education Taranaki Trust and continues to serve as Chair of the New Plymouth Riding for the Disabled.
