We’re proud to be bringing Willie Apiata to rural communities across New Zealand as part of a new series of Rural Support Trust wellbeing events.

A former NZSAS soldier and Victoria Cross recipient, Willie Apiata is one of New Zealand’s most respected servicemen, known for his courage, humility and deeply authentic approach to conversations around resilience, leadership and wellbeing.

These evenings are designed to bring rural people together in a relaxed and supportive environment to connect, share a yarn and hear honest conversations about life’s challenges and the importance of looking out for one another.

WEDNESDAY 21 OCTOBER TET Stadium & Events Centre 5.30PM DOORS OPEN

Recommended for ages 16+.

In support of the Big Clean, the Bell Block lions will be meeting at Bell Block beach at 12pm this Sunday to clean up our beach. Gloves and Sacks provided. All welcome to join.
Followed by food, drink entertainment at East end from 2pm.

What a special and thoughtful gift. Taranaki Health Foundation and Taranaki Chamber of Commerce.

Earlier this week, we advanced to Ward 2b to deliver a gift that will keep the kids entertained for hours!

The Taranaki Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 90 years as an Incorporated Society, and marked the occasion by gifting its members a copy of Taranaki Monopoly.

We reckoned that gift would go further in the hands of the kids in Ward 2b, so we delivered it straight to the nurses who care for them every day.

I have an interesting life as the Manager of Volunteering New Plymouth - this morning was our Managers Morning tea and this afternoon recording a promotional video for the Age Is Just a Number Forum that we are collaborating with Age Concern Taranaki for on October 1st, 2026 - exciting

We are looking to help the moving day for Taranaki Women's Refuge with volunteers - if you can join the already enlisted crew in moving the boxes on the day - September 13th @8.30am - they are looking to form a human chain to move the boxes of clothes and accessories - so no sorry this is not going to help your million steps goal 🙃- but is in aid of a great cause - message [email protected]

Firstly, we have the mammoth task of the big move from our HQ at Centre City Shopping Centre to our shop location at New Plymouth Raceway on Sunday 13th September starting from 8.30am and we need people power! 💪🏻

Secondly, we need shop helpers 🛍️
We are open to the public from Saturday 26th September - Sunday 4th October. Each day has 2 volunteer sessions (Morning/Afternoon). It involves a lot of hanging clothes and is super fun 👗

If you have the muscle and can spare some time on moving day or you’d like to volunteer in the shop - send us an email and we can flick you back all the info 👇
