đź”· The Neuro divergent brain is encouraged and activated by 5 motivators .. INCUP
• Interest
• Novelty
• Competition
• Urgency
• Passion
Motivators like priority and importance don’t work for us Neuro divergent types.
We need other dopamine incentives to achieve goals.
🔸We need to keep the 5 motivation keys in mind with EVERYTHING WE DO!
These mind hacks will get you in the zone and motivated to actually do the thing you know your supposed to do but just can’t seem to do it.
🔸 When implementing a task break it all down into tiny, small steps that are easy to complete... do one at a time...writing it down to tick off gives us a dopamine kick.
When the small task is achieved, it give us a little dopamine hit, that in turn give us more motivation and enthusiasm for accomplishing more tasks.
When we know what motivated us, it helps us to create situations and scenarios to make life more fun and less overwhelming.
〰️ INCUP 〰️
🔹Interest:
You have to like it to do it!
This is a simple thing to remember. Our brains simply won’t get activated unless we have some interest involved in the task. So you have to use the other motivators to get this one firing.
🔹Novelty:
To avoid shopping as our only source of dopamine, try to bring new things into your life as motivators for healthy habits.
Eg:
•Drive to work or grocery store on a different route
•Sit in a different spot in your house to study or do art
•Wear something different or change your hair style.
•Change the furniture around as part of weekly the cleaning chores.
...Fresh new things give us dopamine hits and get us activated!
🔹Competition:
You can set yourself a competitive game or ask a friend or partner to help you with this by making jobs into a game or a competition.
Eg:
•In how many songs can I get ready?
•How much can I tidy in the next set of adds?
🔹Urgency:
Always doing important tasks last minute?
It’s one of our motivators yet can lead to a lot of stress. Try to set rewards for achieving tasks BEOFRE the deadline.
Accountability can help providing there’s a reward or something linked in to other motivators to get this to work.
🔹Passion:
When we are passionate about something we click into hyper focus and can nail almost anything we get interested in.
Find something about the task that brings you passion.. if you can’t... then set a reward for something your passion about and use other motivators to keep momentum.
Remember...INCUP works well as a collective, so our job is to find fun ways to combine these that work for us personally so as to encourage motivation and keep our dopamine flowing.
