Its been a busy weekend for the Taranaki landSAR team with a couple of jobs on. A crew headed to Mt Damper for 3 days to clear/cut and remark the Mt Damper track. While that was happening a call came in and rest of the team handled that with a successful outcome. Heres a picture

A couple of LandSAR team members headed out this morning to the Holly Hut area to assist an ACR team of 3 that had extracted a couple of climbers that had injured themselves above the Hut. The ACR team encountered some extremely cold and icy conditions during the night/morning. Well done to both teams.

Another successful Land Search & Rescue task completed Saturday afternoon. Two team members got the call just after 7pm to say that there was a person that couldn't find their way back to the track and were in thick bush. They walked in, located her using a grid reference that the police had provided and whistles/voice appeal. It was great they found her in good spirits for the walk out, which was quite challenging due to the terrain and bush density where she was.
