Hey everyone 🌾

I know I’ve been a bit quiet lately — just wanted to say thank you for your patience. I had to take some time away for personal reasons, but I’m finally feeling ready to get back in the saddle, both literally and in life. 💛

I’m excited (and grateful) to say that Homegrown Horsemanship is on the road — traveling across NZ and doing what I love most: helping horses and their humans find trust, understanding, and connection.

If you’ve been waiting to work together or just want to catch up, I’d love to hear from you. My books are open again, and I’m keen to hit the road and get back to doing the good work. 🐴

Hey friends! 🤠

Just wanted to share a little update — I’ve made a small but meaningful change:
I’m now officially going by Homegrown Horsemanship. This name feels more true to my roots, my values, and the way I work with horses and their people — slow, honest, and from the heart.

Even bigger news… I’m now traveling!

That’s right — I’m hitting the road to bring horsemanship help wherever it’s needed. Whether you need a hand with groundwork, floating help or a fresh start for any horse, or just want to build a better connection with your horse, I’d be honored to come out and work alongside you.

Thanks to everyone who's supported me so far. This little business is growing in big ways, and I couldn’t do it without you. 🐴💛

Welcome to Homegrown Horsemanship

Hi everyone, and thanks for visiting my page.

I’m Rochelle McGinty, an experienced horsewoman offering a wide range of professional equine services across New Zealand. With years of hands on experience handling horses of all ages, types, and temperaments, I’m passionate about creating confident horses and capable riders.

Travelling in our bus, I work with both horses and their people, and I’m available to come to you wherever you are.

What I Offer:
• Backing and starting green or young horses
• Schooling under saddle and groundwork
• Support with difficult or misunderstood horses and ponies
• Private lessons and coaching for all ages
• Equisage therapy hire for performance and recovery
• Holiday animal care (horses, pets, lifestyle blocks)
• General horsemanship support and advice

I believe in building trust between horse and rider through calm, consistent handling and thoughtful training. Whether you’re struggling with a behavioural issue, need help bringing a young horse into work, or just want to feel more confident in the saddle, I can tailor support to suit you and your horse.

A Note on Rehoming:
While rehoming horses is still something I occasionally do, it’s no longer my main focus. When I do have a horse available, I ensure they’ve been given a solid foundation and real-world experience before finding their ideal match.
