Did you know that the word vinaigrette first appeared in 1694 in the Dictionnaire de l’Académie française?

Our students recently discovered the fascinating place vinaigrette holds in French culinary culture, and, of course, they got to make their own!

Along the way, we explored French traditions and rituals around eating, including why sitting together at the dinner table has such an important place in French culture.

Learning French is about so much more than learning the language it’s also about discovering the culture, traditions and everyday life behind the words.

And the best part? We got to taste our learning too!
