Hooray it's FINALLY here and we'd love to know what you think!
The TRA Committee is very pleased to share our completed community artwork mural project with you - many months ago we posted that we had a mural project in the works to beautify the Taradale Park toilet block. It's something many of you had been asking for over many years. Pictured in front of the bare canvas before works began, are TRA President Cyndi Eaton and artist Anthony Chiappin.
A big thank you to all involved for getting this over the line and a very BIG thank you to our wonderful artist, Anthony Chiappin, Programme Coordinator and Senior Lecturer within the Design Graduate and Post-graduate degree programmes, at IDEAschool, EIT for his original artwork which is a colourful, vibrant, action-packed nod to some of the activities based at Taradale Park - tennis, cricket, football, Harriers, skateboarding and scootering.
If you stand in a certain point at the rear of the building, the distant hills and the hills in the painting match up. The TRA Committee along with Anthony, hope the community and visitors enjoy the mural and it is something locals can be proud of.
Thank you also to the Taradale Business Association and the NCC for their generous support and Source Cafe for shouting Anthony lunch on one of his long, busy painting days :)
Let us know what you think of the mural. We would appreciate your feedback. Many thanks!
