The Presidents Report -
A & P Show Report
After a very cold start, the sun finally came out, and it was pleasing to see a good crowd come along and enjoy the activities and displays. Thank you to everyone who came along to support the show and have a great day
The BMX guys demonstrated with some gravity defying tricks, Donny and his dog Charm herding the ducks was clearly a crowd favourite and the Very Young Farmer event run by Harcourts was a lot of fun for the children.
The inaugural Fashion In the Field was very well supported and a great show of fashion on display. Congratulations to the competitors for putting in the effort and braving the cold, we all enjoyed the show. I am sure we will see this event again in 2027.
Our equestrian classes were very well supported, and ground conditions were great for the horses. Shed entries were down a little, especially in the vegetable section, clearly a reflection of the terrible spring and lack of summer. Shearing entries were well up on last year.
Special thanks to Braden and Robyn Cooper for supplying the sheep and Mike Harper for transporting the lambs to and from the show. Cattle classes were the best ever.
Many trade stall holders reported a good day, thanks for supporting them.
A huge vote of thanks to all al the people and businesses that provided sponsorship, without your generosity we would not be able to host the annual show. Please see the list of sponsors in this newsletter.
Also, a huge thank you to all the volunteers who turn up to prepare the venue and those that help on show day. Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks to our hard-working committee who have spent the last 12 months putting the 105th show together. Plans are already underway for our 2027 show. If you enjoyed the show and want to ensure its longevity, we would love to see you at a meeting, you may have some ideas of new activities for future shows.
We still have some invoices to pay but at this stage it appears we will show a small profit. A good result as the main aim of the committee is to create a fun/ interesting day for the whole community, rather than generate large cash reserves. Once again thanks to the committee for achieving exactly that.
