Kowhai's role at Te Awanui is Business Support Coordinator working alongside Māori Trusts/ Orgs. across Tauranga Mōana and beyond!

Alongside mahi, Kowhai is also studying a double major in Business Management & Accounting and also a trustee of her Hapu' charitable trust and for her whānau Ahu Whenua trust!

Kowhai loves keeping active within te taiao, where she enjoys going for hikoi up mauao, gathering native fauna/ flora to make homemade rongoa products and getting out on the water for a paddle, with the strong belief of protecting our taiao!

Raised in Whakatāne majority of his life, Zion's journey has now brought him back to his roots in Te Puke & Tauranga Mōana.

On the tail end of his Bachelor of Business at Waikato University, Zion started as the TAHP Marketing intern over last summer, where his contribution and passion earned him into the role of the Communications Coordinator for Te Awanui!

Being one of 4 siblings and a uncle of 8, Zion's enjoys being with his whānau creating special memories.

Zion is also active amongst other spaces including - Whitiki Tauira Mentoring at University & in his local haahi, which stems from his passion to see other rangatahi prosper!

Born in Darfield Canterbury and bought up on the Tawera Maori Reserve in inland Canterbury. Te Horipo is one of five children (with strong hunter gatherer genes), and has been constantly on the move across ki uta, ki tai most of his life!

Te Horipo is the CEO of Te Awanui Huka Pak and approaches the role through a servitude leadership style and seeks to provide opportunities for all stakeholders and te ao māori overall to thrive!

With diverse interests in contemporary māori art, muscle and super cars, humanities origins, cosmos & universe, technology & innovation.

Te Horipo also enjoys being a practitioner in Southern Warrior Arts & Traditions, and is passionate about whakapapa, tātai korero, karakia, rongoa, mātauraga frameworks, oral traditions; and Wing Chun Kung Fu.
