WORKING BEE!

Kia ora, these are our days for the next two working bees as we prepare to open the new whareiti.

We need all hands on deck e te whānau nō reira, haere mai.

If you are available to help serve kai on the day and prep the day before please contact Kamira asap.

Tēnā koutou e te whanau,

Re-sharing this important pānui as next tuesday is the commencement day 🥳

Due to our marae becoming a construction zone, we will be unable hold any bookings at the marae.
Our water and power will be disconnected whilst we upgrade the facilities.

You are welcome to come see the progress, take pictures and share on our page please! We def want to document this occasion for our mokopuna! however, please remember that this is a construction zone. Please do not enter the site and be mindful that there will be a truck moving in and out of site taking the demolished material to the tip.

The works will be from the 21st of Jan 2026 until Easter Weekend (around the 06 April 2026) following the opening. The end dates may need to shift pending any hold ups with the new build but we are working closely to these dates.

We apologise in advance for the inconvenience that this may cause. We will try our best to make sure that we can keep to these dates (or earlier if possible).

Remember you divers/ hunter gatherers: if you have the ability to help provide some kai (seafood or ngāhere) for the opening, we will be hugely grateful.

Please see below for an important panui regarding our upcoming marae closure.

Due to our marae becoming a construction zone, we will be unable hold any bookings at the marae.
Our water and power will be disconnected whilst we upgrade the facilities.

We will be touching base with our neighbouring marae to see if they will have the capacity to tautoko our whanau should a tangihanga arise during our closure period.
We will do our uttmost best to support our whanau through any tangi and finding a new venue as best as possible.

URGENT REQUEST!

Kia ora e te whānau,

In the prep for our new whareiti, we are getting our wharenui re painted so it can look flash as well.

When the painters initally came, they identified some rotten boards.
Is there a builder within our whānau that can come and quote the repair of the rotten boards ready for us to get them repaired and commence painting ASAP?

If you could complete the works, it would be a great stress off our shoulders.
