Description
Part-Time Social Worker (21 hrs per week – Tues, Wed, Thurs)
Otamatea Community Services – Kaipara

Due to an internal promotion Otamatea Community Services is looking for a qualified Social Worker to join our team.

This role provides community-based social work under our Oranga Tamariki contract, supporting children, young people, and whānau to build safety, resilience, and wellbeing.

The role
You’ll work in a trauma-informed, strengths-based way, within a bicultural and culturally responsive organisation. You’ll be supported by a multi-disciplinary team while working autonomously with your own caseload.

We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience assessing whānau needs, risks, and strengths
Understands Care and Protection processes
Builds strong, respectful relationships with whānau and agencies
Works well independently and as part of a team
Brings a calm, practical, can-do approach
You’ll need:

A recognised social work qualification
Current registration and Annual Practicing Certificate (or able to obtain)
Full NZ driver’s license
Good computer literacy

PART TIME - 30HRS/WK FOR 32WEEKS (FIXED TERM)

Monday - Thursday

Otamatea Community Services are seeking a community-minded, people-focused person to support older adults (Kaumatua) to stay connected, engaged, and supported in their community.

This role is part of a supported employment programme and is well suited to someone looking to build skills, confidence, and experience as a pathway toward long-term employment. Training, mentoring, and on-the job support will be provided.

Thid role may suit you:

~ Enjoy working with people and being active in the community.
~ Have empathy, patience, and respect for older people (Kaumatua).
~ Are keen to learn, grow, and gain practicle work experience.
~ Are reliable, positive, and willing to work both independently and as part of a team.
~ Share values of respect, inclusion, and community connection.
~ Have a clean, full drivers licence and complete police vetting.

Please note, our community van will not be going to Whangārei this month.

You can drop your donations off at the Maungaturoto Coast to Coast Health Centre — just look for the beautiful Christmas tree at the front door waiting to be filled with your kindness! 🌟

We need to get everything sorted and delivered before we wrap up on the 17th — so the earlier, the better!

Can you believe it — only 3 weeks until Christmas! 🎅✨

Here at Otamatea Community Services (OCS), we’ve teamed up with our lovely friends at the Coast to Coast Health Care Clinic in Maungaturoto to help spread a little Christmas cheer.

We have a Christmas Giving Tree put up for us at (Maungaturoto Doctors) for anyone who would like to donate a present for a local child aged from birth (0) to 16 years. 🎁💝

We’re also collecting food donations to create Christmas hampers for local whānau — helping make the season a little brighter for everyone. 🌟

Your kindness and generosity make such a difference in our community — thank you! ❤️

📌 Board Secretary Required – Volunteer Position

Otamatea Community Services (OCS) is seeking a Volunteer Board Secretary to support our governance team. If you have approximately 3 hours a month from February to November, this is a great way to contribute to your community.

Key responsibilities include:
• Taking notes during board meetings
• Finalising and preparing meeting minutes
• Supporting the Chair with administrative tasks as required

🗓 Meetings: Third Tuesday of each month
🕙 Time: 10am–12pm at our Maungaturoto premises
⌨️ Additional: Around 1 hour to complete minutes (this can be done from home)
