What a fantastic evening at our latest Business After 5, hosted by the incredible team at Guthrie Bowron Matamata!

A huge thank you to Leo and his team for opening their doors, sharing their story, and making everyone feel so welcome in their beautiful new showroom.

Leo's journey is one built on family, hard work, and craftsmanship. Inspired by his father, a painter and decorator, and with roots stretching back to the early 1950s when his grandparents emigrated from England to New Zealand, it's easy to see where his passion comes from. After purchasing the business in 2007 and operating from Arawa Street for many years, moving into their purpose-designed new store in March 2025 has been a game changer.

The team designed, painted, and decorated the new space themselves, and the result is absolutely stunning.

It was also a great reminder that Guthrie Bowron is now so much more than just a paint store. Whether you're a homeowner, builder, designer, or landlord, they help bring renovation projects to life with everything from paint, wallpaper, tiles, curtains and blinds to expert design advice.

Thanks again to everyone who came along for another great evening of networking and supporting local business. We can't wait to see you at the next one! 🥂

🏆 Congratulations to Chamber member Baigent Motors on an incredible achievement! 🚗👏

We're thrilled to celebrate Baigent Motors for receiving the Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer Award for the eighth consecutive year – an outstanding accomplishment that reflects their unwavering commitment to customer service, excellence, and the Matamata community.

This prestigious national award recognises excellence across all aspects of dealership operations, and earning it eight years in a row is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of the entire Baigent Motors team.

As highlighted in this week's The Scene Newspaper, this success comes down to great people, strong relationships, and consistently going the extra mile for their customers.

Congratulations to Justin Scelly and the whole Baigent Motors team on this well-deserved recognition. We're proud to have such an exceptional business as part of the Matamata Chamber of Commerce and our local business community.

👏 Here's to many more years of success!

✨ Thank You, Matamata! ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported this year's Mid Winter on the Green. It was fantastic to see our community out enjoying a great evening together, despite the winter chill!

A special thank you goes to our incredible stallholders, food vendors, entertainers, volunteers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the event such a success. Events like this simply wouldn't happen without your time, enthusiasm, and support.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along, shopped local, enjoyed the entertainment, and helped create such a wonderful atmosphere.

We hope you had a fantastic night, and we can't wait to see you again at our next community event!

✨ Business After 5 at Clean Boss ✨

A big thank you to Ethan and Alyssa Gordon for hosting tonight's Chamber of Commerce Business After 5 and sharing the inspiring Clean Boss story.

After returning home from Sydney in 2020, Ethan and Alyssa started Clean Boss with a simple idea that quickly grew into a thriving business. Just six years later, they have expanded to 60 franchisees, 85 vehicles on the road, and operations across Matamata, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua and Auckland—all while remaining proudly self-funded.

It was fantastic to hear about their journey, the amazing team behind their success, and their passion for supporting franchisees and delivering great service.

Thank you to Ethan, Alyssa and the Clean Boss team for your hospitality this evening, and for being such a great example of local business success. We look forward to sharing more of your story in our next Chamber newsletter!
